“A small difference is better than no difference”.

For all those sleep deprived mums out, did you know it is possible to make a difference in just 5 minutes? You can achieve 2 sets of 10 reps for 3 exercises in 5 minutes if you don’t stop.

The following 5 minute workouts have been planned to allow you to work more than one muscle group at a time and achieve an over all body workout in just 5 minutes.

Active Mums recognises that all mums are at different stages depending on where they are at therefore every Trainer knows how to adapt an exercise to address these different stages.

Our classes are in groups of 5 – 10 mums so each mum receives one-on-one attention to ensure they are being advanced in a progressive way depending their stage.

A mum with a 6 wk old baby, like Marianne our Wellington Trainer, is different to a mum like Charissa, our Havelock North Trainer, where her youngest of 3 is 2 years old, whom is once again different to myself who is now pregnant with number 4.

Workout One:

  1. Bench Press on Swiss ball with Tricep Extensions
  2. Abdominal Curls on Swiss Ball
  3. Butt Raisers on Swiss Ball

Workout Two: (no swiss balls needed here; just hand weights)

  1. Squats
  2. Lateral Raisers
  3. Bridge Holds

Workout Three: (no swiss balls needed here)

  1. Lunges with bicep curls
  2. Single Arm Pulls
  3. Butt Raisers (lower abs)

Workout Four:

  1. Press Ups off Swiss Ball
  2. Wide Squats
  3. Swiss Ball Hamstring Curls
